Overview
This 75-minute case-based discussion led by Dr. Serena Wadhwa, Psy D., LCPC, CADC focuses on common challenges healthcare professionals who struggle with Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD) often face within the professional world of their occupations, finding treatment and finding support. The presentation explores gaps, potential solutions, and provides ideas for professionals who struggle with AUD and for the individuals who want to support them.
This course is not eligible for credit.
The target audience for this intermediate-level activity includes: All types of healthcare professionals.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion, learners will be able to:
- Describe two ways self and public stigma affect healthcare professionals with AUD who seek help.
- Explain the significance of state and federal laws on confidentiality and reporting when seeking help for impairment.
- Recognize two gaps in the science-to-practice model related to treatment and recovery support for healthcare professionals.
- Identify two key resources available to support healthcare professionals seeking treatment and recovery.
